Passion Planner daily kickstarter
Contributed to the creative direction and production of Passion Planner’s last Kickstarter product, PP Daily, an undated daily planner. Previous Kickstarters with this company had themes of minimalism, limiting their visual assets to blacks, whites, grays, and lime green accents. After establishing the rebrand for the company to be more fun, colorful, and “doodly,” we decided to move forward with the drawings below.
Our main audience was women ages 25-35 and our mission was to help others take control of their lives by organizing their day-to-day tasks with our paper products. With this in mind, we used monoline designs of near-primary hues (tart, sapphire, dandelion, salmon, and fern) to prevent the campaign from looking childish and disorganized. These hues and their low saturation levels give the visual satisfaction of playful primary colors and also allow the campaign illustrations to feel more intentional.
All major Kickstarter campaign assets were dressed in near-primary hues over a light blue background and all infographics and supporting assets were set on light gray or lightly patterned backgrounds to bring attention to the more intricate, muted designs of the planner cover sets.
This image above was used for newsletters, third party sellers, and ads that do not allow text. The light gray background clearly communicates what the product is and looks like, whereas all blue-background assets focused on the writing possibilities and layouts inside the product.
This Kickstarter campaign was successfully funded, reaching over $400,000 in less than three weeks. Passion Planner Dailies have continued to sell for more than two years.
